After a tough battle, the varsity baseball team finished the game with a win of 3-2 over the Lindbergh Flyers on April 25.
Sophomore Kaden Dinges made two of the three runs of the game. He said that after the second run, he felt confident in his teammates that they would win the game.
“I felt great because I knew going into the last inning we had [junior] Gabe Sieve coming in, [and] we know he’s been good all year and that he was gonna shut it down,” Dinges said.
Although Lindbergh is a respectably good team, Dinges knew that the Falcons would be able to overcome once everyone stuck to their plan.
“[Emotions] were up and down the whole game. We went down early and we knew it was a good team and [that] we had to come back. We just played well the whole game and then got our opportunity and we succeeded and did our job,” Dinges said.
Sieve attempted to make it home from third base and was just a moment too short. He said this was the wrong call and that it made him upset.
“I was really mad because this was like the ref’s third bad call of the game,” Sieve.
Coach Jason Schneider said he is overall proud of the team’s passion and work they put into the team.
“This is a great group of guys that are pretty zoned in on what they want to accomplish as a team. We have played some pretty good ball against some of the best competition in the area. I’m very proud of how they play the game,” Schneider said.
