The Falcon’s Nest was used by seniors during lunch in the open area at the top of the main stairs. Due to bad behavior, the Class of 2022 was the last class who was able to use the Falcon’s Nest.
I believe the punishment should not have affected other classes down the road, and administration needs to input strict rules. For example, no throwing food at underclassmen, and if caught, then just that person gets the privilege taken away.
Bringing back the Falcon’s Nest to seniors is a great way to enhance their final year experience. Restoring these privileges would not only honor tradition but would provide a space for the seniors to unwind and bond with their classmates whom they may not see after the year. It can be used as a way to bring the senior class closer together to help improve school spirit, which has been lacking since the Falcon’s Nest was taken away. The comeback of the Nest has been a hot topic amongst students; according to a poll from the Talon’s Instagram story, out of 347 students who answered, 98.9% voted ‘yes’ to the comeback of the Nest.
Also, with the amount of principals and hall monitors we have, there are enough for one to be supervising the Nest and the other six down in the cafeteria.
In conclusion, I believe the Falcon’s Nest is a great way to bring seniors a sense of community amongst them, contributing positively to the overall school spirit.
