Students immerse themselves in live music

Concerts in STL

Many teens in St.Louis gather together through the summer and fall months to watch their favorite artists come to our town to perform. Before school approached, many Summit students spent the cool summer evenings at Hollywood Casino Amphitheater, St.Louis Music Park, and Enterprise Center. Many artists came out such as Kenny Chesney with Megan Moroney, Luke Bryan, Pitbull, Megan Trainor and many more.

I wanted to go to Pitbull because I went 2 years ago when he came to STL and I had a really good time so I wanted to experience it again. The best part was when I saw a ton of my friends and danced and sang with random people I’ve never met before. My favorite song[s] he played [were] ”Fireball” and “Timber” because everyone knew the lyrics and sang super loud. I’d definitely go again because the energy everyone had made the experience 10 times better and I could be as loud as I wanted. I’ve gone to four concerts so far and I’d say this one was the most eventful for me and overall a really good experience”

“I wanted to go to Nicki because me and my friend Raegan from grade school have always loved the song “Super Bass” because we would always put on “concerts” for our parents to that song when we were little and we have always wanted to hear it live. The best part was dressing up and hearing “Super Bass” live and singing it with Raegan. I don’t know that I would go again because the concert started really late and I didn’t know a lot of her other songs. I go to a lot of concerts with friends, mostly country concerts, and I feel like this concert wasn’t as good as other because of how late it started on a school night”

“I wanted to go because I like some of their songs and I saw that the tickets were pretty cheap. The best part was when the band walked through the pit and then walked up to the nosebleeds where I was and I got to touch the guitarist. My favorite song they played was “Are You Bored Yet?” because it’s my favorite song by them. I would go again for sure they were very good performers. I’ve only been to a few concerts but I will be going to more in the future for sure. The concert I went to before the Wallows was rake so he’s pretty hard to top, so I would say that I’ve been to better ones”

“I wanted to go because Tate has been one of my favorite artists for many years because I love how upbeat and fun her music is. The best parts were definitely the dance breaks because it was really cool to watch her dance on the stage after watching her on Dance Moms. My favorite song she played was “We’re not alike” because it is one of my favorites from her and I loved how it sounded live. I would 100% go to her concert again because she is a great performer and I had a lot of fun. I’ve been to a few concerts before and this one was definitely better than some of the others I’ve been to because of how well she performed and the choreography and stuff was really interesting to watch.”
