Now about halfway through the season, the Girls Varsity lacrosse team has won 11 out of 18 games. On April 25, the Falcons played Visitation Academy High School and won 13-11.
Senior defender Mackenzie McClanahan said that even though there were some rough times during the game, her and her teammates pushed through and came out with a win.
“I think overall the game went fairly well, we had a lot of growth this game working on new defenses and figuring out players we hadn’t faced before. There were a couple of iffy calls not in our favor which upset us a little bit during the game but we pulled it together to win,” McClanahan said.
Throughout the game, there were a lot of ups and downs and the score remained close up until the very end, but the team never gave up and kept pushing as hard as possible.
Senior midfield player Clodagh Kloos also felt that the team worked hard all throughout the game.
“Our dedication and hard work helped us to win,” Kloos said.
Kloos also said that she was anxious at the beginning of the game because both teams were equally good, but in the end, she thought that the game turned out good.
“I felt excited but also nervous because I didn’t know how the game was going to go. [But], I think the game went well,” Kloos said.
In the end, the team did their best and played their best game. McClanahan said that all the nerves her and her teammates had just wanted to make them work that much harder and be their best selves on the field.
“Going into the game we were a little nervous because we knew we needed to beat them to rank higher. But that just made us want to play better and work hard for our teammates,” McClanahan said.
