Toward the beginning of this year’s soccer season on Aug. 12, senior Jack Steele was named STL Best XI 2025 Preseason – First Team.
Q: What position do you play?
A: “I play Winger.”
Q: How did you find out that you received first team all state?
A: “I found out originally through social media but I also had friends and family show me.”
Q: What are your plans for after high school and do they include soccer?
A: “I plan on going to college, although I don’t know where yet. I am going to play soccer in college.”
Q: What are some of the responsibilities that come with being captain this year?
A: “Bringing the team together as a family and trying my best to lead by example.”
Q: What are some things you do as captain on the field and how did that help you guys win the game?
A: “On the field I do what I can to communicate with the team and keep everyone mentally in the game. I feel like whether it is [Senior] Kaden [Dinges], me, or anyone on the team, our communication helps us mark well and shut down the other team’s attack.”
Q: The varsity team only has four juniors this year. How are you preparing the juniors on the team for next year after all of this year’s seniors leave?
A: “I am trying to lead by example and show them how good of a team we can be.”
