Q: How did you feel after winning your first high school cross country (XC) race as a freshman?
A: “I felt really excited and grateful.”
Q: What was your time in the race?
A: “18:41.5.”
Q: What are your main goals for the season?
A: “I would like to break 18 [minutes]. I don’t think that’s gonna happen this year, but in high school, I would like to break 18 [minutes].”
Q: When did you start running?
A: “Fifth grade.”
Q: Did you do XC in middle school?
A: “Yes, I did. And then I did the school cross country. But I also did a team outside of school, the Blazers.”

Q: Are you nervous about anything for the upcoming season?
A: “Not really, not yet. I feel like after a couple years, then there’s gonna be more pressure.”
Q: What has been your favorite memory from XC so far?
A: “Just every day. Every day I practice, it’s just fun.”
Q: Who has been your biggest cheerleader so far?
A “The whole team. When I got out there on the podium, they were screaming so loud.”
Q: What do you hope the rest of your high school XC career looks like?
A: “I hope I continue to improve and get better, and I hope my team gets better.”
Q: Do you have plans to pursue running in college?
A: “Maybe. I mean, I would like to, but I don’t know if it would be too much.”
