The Talon is a student publication produced by the News Production class at Rockwood Summit High School in Fenton, MO. Rockwood Schools do not engage in prior review. All stories published in The Talon are suggested, determined, and written by students in the publication. Opinions written in editorials and commentaries are not necessarily the opinions of the administration or school community as a whole. Rockwood Summit journalism consists of The Talon newspaper, The Pinnacle yearbook, and KFTN 92.7 radio station. To join any publication at Summit, including The Talon, students must take one of the prerequisite journalism courses: Journalism Writing and Reporting or Visual Journalism.

Mission Statement 

The goal of The Talon newspaper and staff at Rockwood Summit is to put forth the effort and commitment, not as individuals but as a team of journalists, to produce a newspaper of professional quality and one worthy of decoration. The staff must be committed to representing the school by presenting all points of a story truthfully, and without bias, to cooperate with administrators, teachers, and students and to inform the school community of events that may affect their lives.
