Fall sports recap
Cross Country
At the Suburban Conference Championships, junior Ben Bordner runs the 5k. The meet took place on Oct. 15 and the boys cross country team placed 6th. The girls cross country team finished 2nd at the Class 4 State Championship. Click the photo to read more.
Softball
Freshman Leila Miller takes a swing at the ball against the Fox Warriors. The Falcons defeated the Warriors 11-4 on Oct. 6. The girls were defeated 2-0 by Washington in the Class 4 District 2 Championship game, bringing an end to their 23-5 season. Click on the photo to read more.
Football
Completing a 23 yard pass, senior Javion Tiller (6) catches the ball, dodging linebacker Trey Kulich (10) of Pacific. He scores a touchdown, assisting the Falcons to victory, 68-14 at home. Ending the season with a record of 10-2, the Falcons fell to St. Mary’s 48-3 at the Class 4 District 2 Championship. Click on the photo to read more.
Girls golf
Junior Meredith Fisher putts the ball. The Falcons placed 2nd out of four teams at the annual Rockwood Quad Meet on Sept. 28. They ended their season with a record of 5-2 . At State, junior Maurissa Thrall finished 14th and junior Maddie Gregston finished 22nd.
Boys soccer
In an attempt to get the ball from senior Jack Jones (17), defender Jack Lewis of Webster Groves pushes him. The Falcons fell to the Statestmen in overtime, losing the district finals at home on Nov. 3. The boys soccer team ended their season with a record of 17-7. Click on the photo to learn more.
Field hockey
As she searches for pass options, senior Ella Mantz dribbles the ball down field. The Falcons defeated Whitfield 2-0 on Oct. 19. The girls field hockey team lost 3-0 to Ladue in the Sweet 16, finishing off their season with a record of 16-7-1.
Boys swim
At the Summit Invite, junior Jake Tegethoff races the 100 butterfly. Tegethoff finished 2nd with a time of 55.78. Ending their season with a record of 2-8, swim placed 24th overall at the Class 1 State Championship, with junior Gabe Cusanelli placing 7th in the 100 breaststroke and in 8th in the 50 freestyle and the team placing 16th in the 200 medley relay. Girls tennis
Senior Audrey DaVault serves an ace. “Districts was my third match back, post concussion. It was better than expected for being out so long, even though I lost,” DaVault said. Girls tennis ended their season with a record of 0-12.
Girls volleyball
As junior Jordan Vaughan (4) jumps to block the hit from the other team, junior Erica Vogel (10) covers for her. The girls volleyball team fell 3-0 to Westminster in the first round of Districts. The team finished their season with a record of 17-13-3.
