Every year, the Silver Falcon Marching Band competes at the Bands of America (BOA) Super regional at The Dome in St. Louis. This year, they competed on Oct. 17, they scored the second highest that they have ever scored, 78.700, during their preliminary performance. The bands are all scored out of 100, including visual and music scores. Though the band did not make finals, they scored higher than they did in any BOA competition.
Senior Mia Fauss said that she would be interested to see how the band progresses in the years to come, but that she was satisfied with it as her senior year.
“I think it would be really cool to stay for a few more years and get to see how far we go with where we’re at right now, but I’m also very, very happy that this is my senior year. Even if we didn’t make finals, it’s still the highest we’ve ever scored since I’ve been here, and I think this was just a really fun season and it was a great way to end. It’s also just nice to think that I’ve had an impact on the band in my time here and that hopefully my impact will help people in further years even if I’m not there,” Fauss said.
