During the 2025 Boys Varsity Soccer Season, seniors Nick Nusser and Chase Parmer scored hat tricks. Nusser scored his 3 goals in the Class 3 District 2 semifinal game on Nov. 6 against Mehlville. The Falcons beat the Panthers 4-2. After his second goal, he celebrated with a round off back flip. Parmer scored three goals, his last being the game-winning goal in overtime, in the Class 3 Quarter Final game against Notre Dame High School on Nov. 15. The Falcons defeated the Bulldogs 4-3. This hat trick marked Parmer’s second of the season.
Nick Nusser:
How long have you been playing soccer?
“I’ve been playing soccer since I was about three or four years old.”
What position do you play?
“I play center attacking mid and forward.”
Do you plan to play soccer post high school?
“I’ve looked into playing soccer post high school but I don’t know if it’s a thing I want to do yet.”
What does this hat trick mean for you personally?
“I was just happy that the team got to win and eventually got to play in the district final.”
How did your teammates help you get the hat trick?
“The boys were swinging the rock to me all game and I just kept finishing the ball.”
What is the flip called that you did?
“It was a round off back flip.”
How did you learn to do the flip?
“I didn’t learn how to do it, I kind of just always could.”

Chase Parmer:
How long have you been playing soccer?
“I’ve been playing since I was four years old.”
What position do you play?
“I play forward, winger, and [center attacking midfield].”
Do you plan on playing soccer post high school?
“I plan on playing post high school.”
What does this hat trick mean for you personally?
“It means a lot to me personally because of where it was able to send us [like] to the Final Four and have our whole school show up to something so important.”
How did your teammates help you get the hat trick?
“[Jack] Steele had a free kick, and it just rebounded between a bunch of people and ended up at my feet.”
How did you deal with all of the pressure in overtime?
“I didn’t have a lot of pressure because we had done it multiple times, and I knew our team could come out of it with the win.”
What was your reaction when you found out that you were named one of STLToday’s high school athletes of the week?
“I was really surprised, because I didn’t know anything about it until I saw the Instagram post.”
