Winter Guard performs at Rockwood Review showcase

New year, new show

Performing at the Rockwood Review showcase, sophomore Paris White-Lenard dances in the Marquette main gym on Jan. 23. The winter guard’s performance of “Who Do I Call Now?,” is about a woman who is going through a toxic break up with her boyfriend. Through learning and finding herself, she is able to grow stronger without him. White-Lenard said that overall, showcases serve as a confidence-building preview that prepares the dancers for competition.

“[At a showcase,] You can really get rid of the first show nerves and build up the confidence [to perform]. [You can also] see what you need to work on. It's also really fun, because you get to see the other guards [perform as well],” White-Lenard said.
